Psychoanalysis in the Consulting Room Series

A series of practically oriented introductory seminars to help clinicians incorporate psychoanalytic thinking into their day to day practice.

Theoretical concepts are explored in light of clinical material with the opportunity for participants to discuss their clinical experience.

These seminars are for mental health professionals (psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatrists, social workers, counsellors) seeking to build on their professional training.

This series led by Malika Verma has been running since August 2016, first in Kozhikode, then in Bengaluru, Delhi and Manipal.

Some familiarity with the basic concepts of psychoanalytic thinking will be expected;  reading material will be provided prior to the seminar to help orient you.

This is not a training course in psychoanalysis or psychoanalytic psychotherapy. It is an opportunity for you to explore these ideas in light of your own clinical experience.

Please ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times. No patient identifiable information (name, place of stay, place of work etc) is to be revealed.

Case material discussed in the seminars must not be repeated or quoted elsewhere. Please also refrain from using names of other professionals involved in the cases without their consent.

Seminars will start and end exactly at the advertised times.
